“I have worked with a couple of nutritionists previously and found both experiences led me to quite extreme ‘all or nothing’ thinking and a feeling of guilt for just living my life.

This time around, I was looking to address an immediate situation but more so I wanted to create a sustainable long-term lifestyle change for myself and my family where there is no wagon to fall off. I love that Jess is all about what you can add to your meals as opposed to what you can take away. I love my food and I haven’t felt deprived at all during my 6-week plan which is a breath of fresh air for me having felt restricted (and hungry!) previously.

Jess is super lovely, passionate, so supportive - and it helps that her recipes are absolutely delicious (this woman needs a cook book!). She helps you to think more holistically about your whole lifestyle as well as focusing on eating a nourishing diet and I have found that so helpful and much needed during a busy life period where it’s been trickier to look after myself. Now I think nothing of heading off to bed at 9pm if I feel like that’s what my body needs.

‘‘I don’t know why, but I have always measured my self worth by how I look and how much I weigh (it’s exhausting). I have spent my life yo-yo’ing with my weight and fad dieting. All or nothing, no in between.

I came to Jess 17 months after my second baby, finally feeling ready to take back some control after finding the last year and a half a physical and mental struggle.
Within a week, I no longer felt bloated and sluggish, my sleep quality had improved and my bowel movements were daily rather than every 3-4 days (I had never realised how important this is). The recipes are delicious and surprisingly quick- a must with 2 young children.

The main thing for me though was the education and understanding of how to fuel my body and the personal impact of good vs bad nutrition.
The absolute biggest change has been seeing how I can integrate positive nutrition choices into a ‘normal’ lifestyle and not feel like a failure for going out for meals etc as I can easily get back on track.

Unfortunately 4 weeks into my plan I became ill and so the last 2 weren’t as committed as I would have hoped but Jess was so supportive and helped me to focus on what was important.

I have a long way to go still and in the New Year when plans quieten down I am looking forward to taking it completely back to basics again along with hiring a PT.

In summary, I think I started this plan secretly hoping to be a supermodel by the end of it but I am so grateful to Jess for changing my mindset above all else.
