Drink your skincare: Beetroot juice
Looks questionable but tastes good and does very good, especially for your skin! Beetroot is a great vegetable to add to smoothies and juices because it contains lots of skin-loving nutrients. One of those nutrients, betalains (which gives beetroots their gorgeous deep red / pink colour) supports the functions of the liver and the liver is pretty important when it comes to healthy skin. A healthy liver is crucial for the body’s natural detoxification process and when the liver is overworked it can present on your face in the form of breakouts and can also be related to rosacea as the skin is like a dumping ground for toxins! Other liver loving foods include garlic, turmeric, onions, broccoli, kale, cabbage and cauliflower. But back to beetroot, they’re rich in vitamins and minerals and helps support collagen production which helps the elasticity of the skin. I like to add beetroot, carrot, apple, lemon and ginger to my morning juices- this is my fave beetroot juice combo!
