Face mapping #1 - Dairy

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (of which i’m a HUGE advocate of and use within my practices as a Holistic Nutrition Coach) your face might be trying to tell you something…

Does any of the above apply to you? These skin issues might well be related to the dairy you consume 🤔I’m definitely not saying you should cut out dairy if it agrees with you and you enjoy it as I believe there is great nutritional value to these foods (moderation is key) and I 100% don’t believe in cutting out entire food groups unless your body is seriously telling you otherwise (in terms of intolerances, allergies for example). Everybody is unique so you must listen closely to your own body and what it’s telling you. There’s no ‘one size fits all’ and no such thing as ‘bad food’ it doesn’t exist. But, this face map *might* just be useful if you can relate to the above skin issues alongside digestive upsets you might get from consuming dairy and might just help determine some possible links so that you can delve deeper to the root of the problem and make changes...

⭐️According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, signs you might be consuming too much dairy are reflected in the cheek area with breakouts spots and paleness.

⭐️Dairy can also cause hormonal changes in the body for example a rise in insulin levels and oestrogen imbalances which can show up in the form of fluid retention as well as dark under eye circles and puffiness.

⭐️Spots around the chin area are also hormonal and TCM suggests a flare up in this area can be related to reproductive organs.

It’s the sugars and proteins that are the two main substances in dairy that people commonly react to so If cows dairy doesn’t agree with you / you suffer from digestive issues as well as the above skin flare ups, there are lots of delicious ‘milk’ alternatives (I’m going to write a post soon about them for people who can’t tolerate cows diary) and if you’re worried about your calcium intake by replacing cows diary then don’t forget there are lots of plant based foods that contain calcium for example; broccoli, cabbage, chard, kale and rocket. Legumes, pulses, nuts and and seeds. Gluten face is up next, so watch this space 👀
