Matcha VS Coffee
Firstly, to start off I want to say I’m absolutely not demonising coffee because I love it, but since reducing my intake and switching it up so I’m having matcha instead of coffee some days and just being a bit more considered about when and how much I drink caffeine (never on an empty stomach, always after breakfast and never after 3pm) I’ve 100% noticed a huge improvement from a digestive, anxiety / jittery perspective and sleep perspective too.
But this post isn’t about my personal coffee experience its a suggestion post for you to give matcha a try if you haven’t already, especially if you are wanting to make mindful changes to your nutrition and lifestyle. Matcha from a nutritional perspective is pretty special, it’s brimming with antioxidants and hormone friendly nutrients and this one by Casa Cura tastes delicious!
Even though both coffee and matcha contain caffeine they deliver energy in very different ways…
💚Matcha is abundant in L-Theanine which delivers more of a focused buzz instead of a jittery buzz. Ideal if you suffer with anxiety and want to drink something to help you feel more awake and alive but not increase cortisol levels
💚Matcha releases energy much more slowly over a longer period of time whereas coffee gives you an immediate hit which then results in a dip in energy. Matcha is slow and steady, supportive of hormone balance
💚Matcha includes chlorophyll enhances skin health so you glow from the inside out
💚Matcha is full of antioxidants and is anti-inflammatory to support your health and straighten your immune system
Give matcha a try as part of your morning ritual and also use my caffeine drinking tips above by avoiding drinking it first thing on an empty stomach and let me know if you can notice the improvements I have!
